For over a 100 years the League of Women Voters has challenged voter suppression and upheld representative democracy. The League does not support or oppose any political party or any candidate. It does, however, take action on selected, studied government issues in the public interest and supports access and belonging for all people in principles and practices.

Women Defend Democracy
The LWV has announced a powerful new initiative – “Unite and Rise 8.5” – starting on May 1 as part of its Women Defend Democracy campaign. The initiative will focus on engaging and mobilizing 8.5 million voters between now and November 2026 to protect and preserve our democratic institutions. Local gatherings will take place in Davis and Woodland on Thursday, May 1, protesting many actions being taken by the current administration

In January 2025, the League of Women Voters of Yolo County combined two strong organizations to better serve Yolo. The strong desire by the members of the Leagues of Women Voters of Davis Area and Woodland to support all county residents led to this dedicated effort. We are thrilled to broaden our reach!
