Student Art Contest: Voter Empowerment

Calling all educators, elected officials and community partners to help us pre-register Yolo County high school students by using art as their voice!

The League of Women Voters of Yolo County continues to use grassroots, nonpartisan efforts to reach all corners of our County, including our youth, rural and low-voting-participation residents. 

To encourage greater participation among youth voters, the League and the county’s public library network are sponsoring a “Student Voter Empowerment Design Contest” to create posters, stickers, and bumper stickers.

• Cash gift cards will be awarded to the top three design creators. In addition to the gift cards, the League plans to print the winning designs, post and distribute them in public locations county-wide during various tabling and public events.
• The entries will be judged for relevance to the theme, creativity, visual impact and originality. Parental permission, a student statement of inspiration and creative process, along with a certified statement of authenticity, are required on accompanying entries.
• The contest begins February 13 and runs through March 27th, 2026. 
• Contestants may use drop boxes positioned at all the libraries or send their entries to the posted mailing address on the entry form. 
• The entry form includes suggested themes and must follow the League of Women Voters non-partisan policy for theme, art and text. No trademarked, AI-created/generated or copyrighted elements are permitted.
