“Healthcare Reform: Demystifying Future Healthcare Options,” the 2nd in a series of educational Healthcare Forums is now up ad able to be viewed → HERE.
The goal of this presentation is to help voters better understand and compare a Public Option Proposal with a Universal Care, Single Payer System through a public presentation to the community in time to help voters better appreciate November 2020 candidate healthcare positions in debates and forums.
The forum features:
• Jodi Reid, Executive Director, California Alliance for Retired Americans. CARA is a statewide senior advocacy organization working to improve quality of life for seniors.
• Anthony Wright, Executive Director, Health Access California. HCA is a statewide healthcare consumer advocacy coalition.

Anniversary Meeting
We remember the League’s founding on February 14th, 1920 and the ratification of the 19th Amendment 6 months later. Locally, we are celebrating our one-year anniversary of the renewal of the League of Women Voter Davis Area. Please join us on Wednesday, August 19th at 7pm. We will send out an email with the ZOOM link on the 18th and again on the 19th.

LWVDA sponsored a virtual educational forum to discuss how health care financing and systems design impact access to affordable health care services in Yolo County. View the forum HERE.
The COVID 19 crisis has magnified notable gaps inherent in this system.
James Kahn, MD, MPH, UCSF Professor Emeritus and health policy researcher, gives an overview of the US health systems that drive the access to, and cost of healthcare in the Nation. Joining Dr. Kahn, are Yolo County Healthcare officials and experts who represent community agencies which provide health care services and advocate for the uninsured and underinsured residents of the county.
